STRAWBALE BUILDING WORKSHOP
10th - 17th October 2016
We are extremely passionate about building sustainable, holistic, healthy homes that nourish and cater to the needs of the owner and the surrounding environment.
We believe that choosing sustainable and local materials is imperative to the health and the longevity of our earth, ourselves and our future.
We have strong ethics around utilising local skills and resources, designing using solar passive principles and using as many non-toxic, natural materials as possible.
Working closely with a client to produce a home that provides a nurturing, comfortable and natural environment matching the lifestyle, ethics and dreams of the owner and their family for generations.
Adam's been a builder for 10 years. Starting out as a traditional slate and clay tile roofer in the UK. He then went on to working in heritage restoration and extensions to Georgian buildings in the west midlands of England.
Soon after moving to Australia in 2011 he discovered Permaculture and Natural Building. For the last 3 years he has worked and helped run a Natural building group called Agari Farm, running workshops all over Australia teaching many natural building techniques such as: Earthships, Strawbale, Mud Brick, Light Earth, Super Adobe, Cob, Tiny houses and many more. He has also trained with Earth, hands and houses (Paulina Wojciechowska), Rob Scott (Studio Trucks), Simon Dale (aka builder of the Hobbit House in Wales) and the infamous Ben Law (Roundwood timber framer featured on Grand Designs UK). During his journey of everything natural building, he has worked for an organisation in India called Thannal Homes building a Cob house at an orphanage amongst other rural projects.
Now specialising in Roundwood Timber Framing and also being at the forefront of the Tiny House movement, Adam provides a friendly, ethical and holistic outlook for designing and building a home.
